Set in a peaceful garden with a guest patio, outdoor seating, and a barbecue available on request, The Red Door offers a relaxing retreat after a day of adventures around the Coast, the Peninsula, the Karangahake Gorge, or beyond.

About Us
In just 40 minutes you can reach Tairua, with its sheltered inner harbour beach on one side and a surf and fishing beach on the other. The township of Thames, with its many attractions, cafés and restaurants, is only an 8-minute drive away, while the beaches along the Thames Coast are just 12-15 minutes by car. A scenic one-hour drive along the beautiful Thames Coast Road brings you to Coromandel Town, passing through rolling hills and farmland with stunning views over the eastern Hauraki Gulf. Head south instead and you'll find Hobbiton just 1 hour 15 minutes away. From our gate, we are central to a wide range of destinations within 95km (about 1 hour 15 minutes).
The Hauraki Rail Trail can be accessed just 700 metres from The Red Door on Kirikiri Road West. We are also conveniently located within 1 hour's drive from Auckland Airport, and 1.5 hours from Tauranga, Hamilton, and Auckland.
The Red Door is also well suited to weekly working travellers, with reliable WiFi and a dedicated work table. Your on-site hosts are available to provide local information, and regular visitor rates are available on request.
